- Herschmann, Mordechai
- (1888-1940)American cantor. Born in the Ukraine, he served as a cantor in Zhitomir, and in 1913 became chief cantor of Vilna. In 1920 he emigrated to the US, where he became cantor of Beth El Temple in Brooklyn. Later he made concert tours in Europe, Palestine and the US.
